Social Climbing Dinner Party Etiquette - Who to invite and not! (Feb 2008)

In this town making sure you invite the right people to your house is a must. It’s a difference between being in or out of the social side of things in town. It’s also a bit tricky dealing with who gets on with who too. So I thought I’d do a little check list for you all to follow.

  1. 1.Invite anyone who Famous - it makes you look good!

  2. 2.Only invite good looking people - it makes you look good looking!

  3. 3.Invite only successful & wealthy people - it’s makes you look successful and wealthy too!

Also be aware of those social butterflies who are at every dinner party (we all know who they are)...

  1. 1.People are fed up of seeing them!

  2. 2.They never have dinner parties themselves!

  3. 3.They always bring cheap wine!

Who to Date! (March 2008)

Has anybody else thought about this? Well, if you haven’t trying applying it to your experiences and I bet it turns out true.

When you look back at the kids you went to school with, it’s never the clever ones that get on...... they always go to University and get normal jobs with normal wages. Yet the child who struggled at school and left education at the earliest opportunity regularly does well and often becomes a millionaire or very wealthy.

So when you’re trying to decide who to date, don’t make the same mistake as I did and date and then marry and thankfully divorce a clever one. They maybe able to woo you with prose and romantic folly, but it’s cash that a girl wants like me. So ‘find a grafter’ as my Dad would say.

Bored (May 2008)

I’m tired of this town. Why? The credit crunch, I didn’t realise how many people in this town were pretending to be wealthy! It turns out all the people I thought were worth knowing actually have mortgages on all their houses! Lease the car, have rediculous overdraft facilities and can afford an night out unless it’s on the plastic!!

So what is a girl to do, which my social circle shrinking by the day, I have no one worth talking too!! I think it’s time to go back to the Vin, at least in there, the only people who can afford a drink are loaded!

I’ll tell you how bad things are getting, I had a friend tell me how good Aldi was for shopping!! Aldi, what’s going on, it’s getting to the stage where is I want to make contacts in this town, I’ll have to change my shopping habits too. Gone are the days of networking in Waitrose, no it’s gone to the value end of the market. So I went to Aldi last week to see what all the fuss was about.... Well, I tried to go the budget supermarket, but I couldn’t get in the car park for the amount of Chelsea Tractors from Harrogate!!

Things must be bad!
